From Roccabruna to the Odeon and Great Trapezium

Behind the Canopus is the highest and most isolated area of Villa Adriana, most of which is still in private property and only recently was partly cleaned up and restored.
It is a very long artificial terrace, the Accademia Esplanade (n. 54), at an altitude of 110 m., bordered by retaining walls that are more than three hundred meters long, with buttresses on the west side of the Villa.

At the north end of the Accademia Esplanade is the building of Roccabruna (n. 53), with a ramp leading up to it.
At the southern end of the Accademia Esplanade is instead the building of the Accademia (n. 55) m. 115.6 and further on the so called Mimizia (n. 56) and the Odeon theater (n. 57).
Further on extends the Great Trapezium, one of the most exceptional and spectacular features of the Villa, the fulcrum of the subterranean road network that is described in the next section, Subterranean Road Network.

Only Roccabruna is visible from the outside. The rest is closed to the public or is in private property.
